چکیده
Biliary stent migration is one of the late complications endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography. Most biliary asymptomatic and successfully managed by removal. A 66-year-old man with unresectable pancreatic cancer, common bile duct obstruction, duodenal third portion obstruction underwent plastic placement uncovered metallic in two separate sessions. After 3 weeks from stenting, he presented hematemesis. Urgent esophagogastroduodenoscopy magnetic resonance imaging showed hemobilia. The patient recovered conservative managements. Cross-sectional imagings done 2 months later demonstrated penetration into portal vein. Here, we present a case delayed hemobilia caused

Delayed Severe Hemobilia after Endoscopic Biliary Plastic Stent Insertion
Hemobilia is a rare gastrointestinal bleeding, usually caused by injury to the bile duct. Hemobilia after endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is generally self-limiting and patients will spontaneously recover, but some severe and fatal hemorrhages have been reported. ERCP-related bowel or bile duct perforation should be managed promptly, according to the type of injury and the...
متن کاملPortal Biliopathy Causing Recurrent Biliary Obstruction and Hemobilia
A 63-year-old man with extrahepatic portal vein thrombosis presented with biliary obstruction and hemobilia after a liver biopsy. Balloon sweep of the common bile duct removed clotted blood, and cholangiogram showed a common bile duct narrowing, treated with biliary stenting. A percutaneous biliary catheter was later required for recurrent biliary obstruction and hemobilia, and repeat cholangio...
متن کاملDuodenal Perforation Caused by Distal Migration of Biliary Stent
Background: Migration of endoscopically placed biliary stents is a known complication of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, which has a reported incidence of 3% 6%. Usually, distal migration is asymptomatic and is detected incidentally. Case Presentation: We present a rare case of duodenal perforation caused by distal migration of a biliary stent. A 50 years old gentleman initially...

متن کاملA cholecystocolonic fistula caused by penetration of a double-pigtail plastic stent after endoscopic transpapillary gallbladder stenting.
Endoscopic transpapillary gallbladder stenting is currently indicated to treat acute cholecystitis, and a double-pigtail plastic stent is usually placed [1–3]. No case of cholecystocolonic fistula caused by endoscopic transpapillary gallbladder stenting has been reported. An 87-year-old man was admitted to our hospital for the treatment of right hypochondralgia. Computed tomography revealed gal...
